Getting to us

Getting to us

We are accessible by public transport although your journey would need careful planning. Visit Dartmoor has an excellent public transport page. Please note there is currently no service to Princetown on a Sunday.

BUSES
A really useful website is cartogold which provides live information about services to and from Princetown.
The main buses serving us are:
98 – Operated by Plymouth City Bus

171/172 – Operated by Country Bus
Remember all single bus journeys are capped at £2 until the end of December 2024.

TRAINS
The train from London Paddington to Plymouth are run by GWR over 15 times per day. There are bus connections to us from Plymouth via Yelverton and Tavistock.

The Dartmoor line has been reinstated very successfully providing even more access onto Dartmoor. This service runs from Exeter to Okehampton.

WALKING/ CYCLING
Many people choose to walk or cycle to us from the train stations and from further afield. Remember we have secure bike storage and the Princetown Old Railway track comes almost to the door.

If you’ve not brought a bicycle, we have two of our own mountain bikes that can be hired to explore the trails on Dartmoor.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES
There are now two charging points in the village, provided by Dartmoor National Park with PodPoint. This is less than a five minute walk from the house. We aim to install our own charging points in the future.
