Breakfast

We’re really proud of our breakfasts here at Duchy House, freshly prepared using the highest quality ingredients. We offer a wide variety of homemade choices – from a cooked Full Dartmoor breakfast to a healthy smoothie and everything in between – leaving you refreshed and refueled ready for the day ahead.

All our breakfast ingredients are sourced as locally as possible, helping to keep our food miles down and reduce our carbon footprint.

Our eggs are laid right here in Princetown – less than 500m away – by ex battery hens. They are now happy free-range chickens, scratching around in the fertile Dartmoor soil, breathing in the amazingly clean air, and taking in the stunning views. Happy chickens lay tasty eggs…..

All our meat – sausages, bacon, and hogs pudding – comes from our local butcher W.A Bidder & Sons, 5 miles away in Yelverton. A traditional family butcher, where all their sausages are made by hand on the premises to a family recipe.

Fresh fruits and vegetables come from our local supplier in Tavistock. Although everything may not be organic, it is fresh and full of flavour.

Jam and Marmalade are made by Hogs Bottom in Lifton, a short distance from Princetown.

Last but by no means least – coffee. Life is too short for bad coffee, so we only use the highest quality beans, roasted less than five miles away in Horrabridge by Dartmoor Coffee – freshly ground to order for every cup.
